environment when at an item or an headline, but allow LaTeX
fragments.
(org-cycle): Try to call `cdlatex-tab' before cycling item's or
headline's visibility, in order to catch LaTeX fragments within.
This patch is based on the report and work of Maik Beckmann.

Subject: [PATCH] [ob-maxima] Construct a table from the output of the code block. Add
ert tests.
Thanks to Sergey Litvinov for contributing this language support!
* lisp/ob-fortran.el: Adding support for Fortran code blocks.
* Makefile (LISPF): Compile Fortran support.
* lisp/org.el (org-babel-load-languages): Adding fortran to this list.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-new): Cannot insert an inline
footnote at beginning of line anymore.
(org-footnote-at-reference-p): Don't recognize inline footnotes at
beginning of line.
It is technically possible to allow inline footnotes at beginning of
line, their syntax being different enough from standard references.
Though, after normalizing them, they will become standard footnotes
still at beginning of line, which will break them.
* lisp/org.el (org-set-font-lock-defaults): Fix small error in
matching group that prevented fontification of keywords like
org-comment-string and stars in headlines.
* lisp/org.el (org-heading-regexp, org-heading-keyword-regexp-format,
org-heading-keyword-maybe-regexp-format): Globalize variables so
they are accessible even in buffers not in Org mode.
* org.el (org-self-insert-command): Don't throw an error when
editing takes place at the first point of the buffer.
Thanks to Carsten Dominik for pointing this error.
* org-html.el (org-export-as-html): Convert special characters
in meta tag "author", "date", "keyword" and "description".
Thanks to Pavel Panchekha for raising this issue.
* org-capture.el (org-capture-before-finalize-hook): Docstring
improvement: mention that the buffer is widened when this hook
is run.
Thanks to Paul for a suggestion about this.
* org-agenda.el (org-agenda-set-mode-name): Highlight tags
used for filtering (shown in the mode-line).
* org-faces.el: Add face `org-agenda-filter-tags'.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-as-latex): Turn off auto-insert and
set TeX-master to t when creating new TeX buffers.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-as-docbook):
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-as-html): Turn off auto-insert
when creating new buffers.
* lisp/org-table.el (org-table-formula-handle-first/last-rc): Do not
expand pointers to first/last row/column that are inside a call
to `remote'.
(org-table-get-remote-range): Expand pointers to first/last
row/column.

I finally got around to looking into this: The reason is that, in
org-capture mode, `outline-level' is bound to outline.el's function,
which is off by one compared to org-mode's. I used this patch to fix
it:
Could somebody review and maybe apply this?
* org.el (org-return): Check the presence of the 'org-link
face even in contexts where there is more than one face.
Thanks to Maximilian Matthé for reporting this bug.
This patch, against the stable 7.7 branch version of org.el, adds a
default-description argument to org-insert-link that, if non-nil, will
become the default description.
- Yuri Lenskiy
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-as-docbook): Fix regexp.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-as-html): Fix regexp.
The erroneous regexp would identify the string " *" as an headline.
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-agenda-to-appt): Make sure filter-items are
strings before calling `string-match'.
Now it's possible to use (org-agenda-to-appt t '((headline "string"))).
TINYCHANGE
* org-agenda.el (org-agenda-to-appt): Allow to refine the
scope of entries to pass to `org-agenda-get-day-entries' and
allow to filter out entries using a function.
Thanks to Peter Münster for raising a related issue and to
Tassilo Horn for this idea.
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-search-view): Simplify regexp.
(org-agenda-get-todos): Use new format string.
* lisp/org-archive.el (org-archive-all-done): Simplify regexp.
* lisp/org-ascii.el (org-export-as-ascii): More accurate regexp.
* lisp/org-colview-xemacs.el (org-columns-capture-view): Use new
format string and new string.
* lisp/org-colview.el (org-columns-capture-view): Use new format
string and new string.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-as-docbook): More accurate
regexp. Also use new regexp to match generic headlines.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-protect-quoted-subtrees): More accurate
regexp. Also use new regexp to match generic headlines.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-as-html): More accurate regexp. Also
use new regexp to match generic headlines.
* lisp/org-mouse.el (org-mouse-match-todo-keyword): Removed unused
and now erroneous function.
* lisp/org.el (org-heading-regexp, org-heading-keyword-regexp-format):
New variables.
(org-set-regexps-and-options): Create regexps according to the
following rule: use spaces only to separate elements from an headline,
while allowing mixed tabs and spaces for any indentation job.
(org-nl-done-regexp, org-looking-at-done-regexp): Removed variables.
(org-set-font-lock-defaults): Fontify again headlines with a keyword
and no other text. Use new format strings.
(org-get-heading, org-toggle-comment, org-prepare-agenda-buffers,
org-toggle-fixed-width-section): Use new format string.
(org-todo): More accurate regexps.
(org-point-at-end-of-empty-headline): Simplify regexp.
(org-insert-heading): Headline can sometimes be nil.
This patch attempts to reduce the number of hard-coded headlines, by
providing two format strings and one generic string to cover most of
the cases of headline construction.
* org.el (org-loop-over-headlines-in-active-region): New customization
variable. Loop over headlines in active region.
(org-schedule, org-deadline): Apply to headlines in region depending
on new customization variable.
* org.el (org-format-agenda-item, org-scan-tags): Rename
`org-format-agenda-item' to `org-agenda-format-item'.
* org-agenda.el (org-search-view)
(org-get-entries-from-diary, org-agenda-get-todos)
(org-agenda-get-timestamps, org-agenda-get-sexps)
(org-agenda-get-progress, org-agenda-get-deadlines)
(org-agenda-get-scheduled, org-agenda-get-blocks)
(org-agenda-format-item, org-agenda-add-time-grid-maybe)
(org-agenda-change-all-lines)
(org-agenda-add-entry-to-org-agenda-diary-file): Rename
`org-format-agenda-item' to `org-agenda-format-item'.
Using the `org-agenda-' prefix makes more sense here.
Additionally, replace one
(or (org-mode-p) (derived-mode-p 'org-mode))
with
(derived-mode-p 'org-mode)
cause that is reflexive anyway (returns true, if the current mode is
org-mode).

Hi Bastien,

In org-publish-project-alist, i have HTML publishing projects which
should be published to different target directories depending on e.g.
where emacs is running (which i determine in my init files using the MAC
address of the default GW, the name the machine, ...).
Here is an example: At home, i publish to a local directory
(:publishing-directory "~/tmp/publish-test") but at work i would like to
publish directly to a webserver (:publishing-directory
"/plinkx:doxydoc:~/public_html/publish-test" - this is on w32, using
tramps PuTTY/plink). To avoid having to change the definition of the
publishing project when i change locations i would like to construct the
actual value of :publishing-directory by calling a function:
("publishing-dir-test"
:base-directory "~/Documents/Work/RS"
:recursive t
:base-extension "org"
:exclude-tags ("intern")
:publishing-directory '(expand-file-name "publish-test" kt:org-default-publishing-dir)
:publishing-function org-publish-org-to-html)
Depending on the location i'm in, 'kt:org-default-publishing-dir' would
be set to either "~/tmp" or "/plinkx:doxydoc:~/public_html". Without the
patch, the example above does not work as the value of
:publishing-directory does not get evaluated.

Thanks for the hint. I've attached a revised version of the patch which
includes a changelog/commit msg - i hope that works for you.
Publish: allow dynamic construction of the publish destination.
* org-publish.el (org-publish-file): Added 'eval'ing the value of the
:publishing-directory property before using it as destination of the
publishing project. This allows to construct the publish destination
directory dynamically at run-time using the return value of a
function.
TINYCHANGE
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-agenda-move-date-from-past-immediately-to-today):
New option.
(org-agenda-date-later): Improve the logical structure.
* doc/org.texi (Agenda commands): Document that S-right on a line
representing a past date will immediately shift that date to today.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-balanced-split): Balance both [] and ()
groupings.
(org-babel-parse-header-arguments): Be sure to replace removed ":"
characters.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-params-from-properties): Now splits multiple
var arguments behind a single ":var".
(org-babel-balanced-split): Separated balanced splitting of strings
out into a new function.
(org-babel-parse-multiple-vars): Splits multiple var arguments
behind a single ":var".
org.el: (org-completing-read): Enable recursive minibuffers and add
the `C-c !' key in the minibuffer local map.
Thanks to Skip Collins for the idea and to Nick Dokos for the
implementation.
* org.el: Remap `outline-promote' and `outline-demote' keys to
`org-promote-subtree' and `org-demote-subtree'.
Thanks to Michael Brand for the suggestion.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-params-from-buffer): Removing #+BABEL: lines
in favor of general #+PROPERTIES: lines.
* doc/org.texi (Buffer-wide header arguments): Removing documentation
of the defunct #+BABEL: structure.
Thanks to Nick Dokos for suggesting this fix
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-disassemble-tables): Fix multi-table bug in
code block colname and rowname handling.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-store-forced-table-alignment): Parse
the column cookie for both alignment and width specification.
Store the resulting value in `org-col-cookies' property.
Retire the previously used `org-forced-aligns' property for
consistency. Renamed local variable `aligns' to `cookies'.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-format-org-table-html): Use
`org-col-cookies'. Renamed local variable forced-aligns to
col-cookies.
This is a preparatory patch. A backend can look at the colwidth
specification and (at it's discretion) use it to control relative
sizes of individual columns in a table. At this moment, it is unclear
whether the widths used to control the display of table in Org buffer
can be overloaded to also control the formatting of table in a
backend.
Refer following discussion with Matt Price:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2011-08/msg01053.html
* lisp/org.el (org-latex-to-mathml-jar-file)
(org-latex-to-mathml-convert-command): New user-customizable
variables.
(org-format-latex-mathml-available-p, org-create-math-formula)
(org-format-latex-as-mathml): New functions.
(org-format-latex): Add a new local variable block-type that
notes the nature of the equation - inline or display.
Associate it's value to `org-latex-src-embed-type' property of
dvipng links. Add mathml as new processing type.
Patch by Jambunathan.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-tables): Honor
`org-export-latex-table-caption-above'
(org-export-latex-table-caption-above): New option.
Patch by Thomas Dye.

I am attaching the promised patch to org-exp.el. Can someone review and
commit this change?
Please note that I have withheld the changes to org-odt & co which make
use of this change.
ps: The patch to org.texi will follow soon - maybe in a day or two.

Subject: [PATCH] org-exp.el: Enhance `org-export-number-lines' to support odt export
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-number-lines): Modified. Add a
new parameter `preprocess' and use this for backend-agnostic
handling of literal examples.
This parameter is currently exercised only by the odt exporter. Hint:
See future commits.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-common-header-args-w-values): New variable to
hold common header arguments and their default values.
(org-babel-header-arg-names): Redefined using the new common header
arg variable.
(org-babel-insert-header-arg): New function to help when inserting
header arguments.
* org-html.el (org-html-handle-links): Remove unnecessary protection
markers when publishing link in default format.
Left-over from the mess that was 7.5's HTML export.
* lisp/org-crypt.el (org-crypt-check-auto-save): New function, see next change.
* lisp/org-crypt.el (org-decrypt-entry): Break the auto-save-mode check out
into a separate function, and call it at a later point, to assure it only
runs when visiting an encrypted entry.
Currently `org-decrypt-entry' is doing the auto-save-mode check whenever
it's run, regardless of context, while this only makes sense when run on
an entry which is actually encrypted (or looks like it, at least).
TINYCHANGE
Two new format codes support insertion of a short-format time stamp.
%d for an inactive time stamp, and %D for an active one.
* lisp/org.el (org-log-note-headings): Document new %d and %D escapes.
(org-store-log-note): Implement new %d and %D escapes.
TINYCHANGE
* org-mode/lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-number-lines):
Check whether number parameter (this is a numbered block!) is
non-nil as well as whether cont is nil (this numbered block should
*not* continue numbering where we left off before!) before resetting
the count to zero.
From the docs:
If you use a `+n' switch, the numbering from the previous
numbered snippet will be continued in the current one.
With this change I believe the code complies with the docs.
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-agenda-follow-indirect): New option.
(org-agenda-follow-mode): Call `org-agenda-do-context-action' fro
follow mode.
(org-agenda-do-context-action): Also do indirect follow mode action.
By setting `org-agenda-follow-indirect' to a non-nil value,
`org-agenda-follow-mode' will use an indirect buffer to display only
the current item, rather than the whole agenda file in which it lives
* lisp/ob-table.el (sbe): If first variable is a string and not a cons
cell, then interpret it as a string of header arguments to be passed
to the code block.
* lisp/ob-shen.el (shen-eval-defun): Declare external function.
(org-babel-execute:shen): Move requirement of inf-shen into the
function in which it is used to fix build error.
* lisp/org.el (org-open-at-point): Make org-open-at-point only ask once
about creating a new headline
When following "thisfile" links org-open-at-point is kind enough to
retry org-link-search again after widening the buffer it can't be
found. However org-link-search also asks the question "No match -
create this as a new heading? (y or n)" when target can't be
found. This means that the question is asked twice when following a
nonexistent link and answering no.
This is fixed by setting org-link-search-inhibit-query in first try,
so only second invocation asks the question.

Funny enough, I noticed this too last week, so I whipped up this patch.
It inserts the range when start date is the same as the end date. Please
test (it's still young) && include in Org if you so please.

possible to use commands, like C-c C-c, acting at items. This is
still disabled if `org-special-ctrl-a/e' ignores C-e.
Hi all,
org-footnote-renumber-fn:N invalidates footnotes that appear as the

org-footnote-renumber-fn:N and see it breaking.

Note, that in larger org files, it's likely that you don't even notice
that the footnotes break.
Once I added a patch on patchwork that fixed this issue, and that's
shown as "accepted".
http://patchwork.newartisans.com/patch/705/
I think, I've marked it as deferred or so myself because I've thought
the issue was fixed in the meantime, but that doesn't seem to be true.
Here's an updated patch.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-goto-definition): This patch
makes sure the function says when a definition has been found.
Thus, moving from the reference to the definition doesn't offer to
create the latter again.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-create-definition): When the tag
is missing, it is created before any existing footnote, or at end of
buffer. In the latter case, the marker pointing at the position
where the new footnote is going to be inserted (at end of buffer)
stays before the tag. This patch makes sure that the marker will be
kept after the tag.
* lisp/org-bibtex.el (org-bibtex-type-property-name): Configurable
property name for bibtex entry types.
(org-bibtex-headline): Use new configurable property name.
(org-bibtex-check): Use new configurable property name.
(org-bibtex-create): Use new configurable property name.
(org-bibtex-write): Use new configurable property name.
* contrib/babel/langs/ob-fortran.el (org-babel-fortran-var-to-fortran):
Replacing usage of characterp with integerp (which should work w/Emacs22).
* lisp/ob-C.el (org-babel-C-var-to-C): Replacing usage of characterp
with integerp (which should work w/Emacs22).
Thanks to Christopher Genovese for this change
* lisp/ob-tangle.el (org-babel-tangle-collect-blocks): Better
delimiting of Org-mode text preceding a code block.
* lisp/ob-tangle.el (org-babel-process-comment-text): Customizable
function to process comment text.
(org-babel-tangle-collect-blocks): Make use of new customizable
processing function.
(org-babel-spec-to-string): Call customizable function rather than
`org-babel-trim'.
* lisp/ob-R.el (org-babel-execute:R): Collect and pass along the
result-params.
(org-babel-R-evaluate): Accept result-params and if "scalar" or
"verbatim" don't process output.
(org-babel-R-evaluate-session): Accept result-params and if "scalar"
or "verbatim" don't process output.
* org-html.el (org-html-handle-links): Remove unnecessary link
unescape.
PATH is already unescaped and should never be escaped twice. Big
thanks to Jambunathan K for analyzing the problem.
* org-taskjuggler.el (org-export-as-taskjuggler): Clone the
buffer local variables to the temporary buffer before
exporting.
The taskjuggler exporter handles properties. When defining buffer
local priorities the export fails however, as buffer local variables
are not taken into account since the export happens in a new temporary
buffer. This commit fixes that by cloning the relevant buffer local
variables into the temporary buffer before exporting.
* lisp/org-inlinetask.el (org-inlinetask-goto-end): Correctly detect
the end of an inlinetask when the next one starts immediately after
the current one. Also, return position of point.
* lisp/ob-asymptote.el (org-babel-asymptote-table-to-array): Require a
new argument TYPE specifying the detected type of array. If it's a
string array, make sure every element is returned as a string. Also
improve doc-string.
(org-babel-asymptote-var-to-asymptote): Fill new argument. Small
refactoring.
(org-babel-asymptote-define-type): Rewrite to avoid stopping search at
first float found, as strings have precedence over floats.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-normalize): be sure to separate
the last footnote definition from the rest of the buffer.
Thanks to Jambunathan K for reporting this.
* org-agenda.el (org-search-view, org-agenda-get-todos)
(org-agenda-get-deadlines, org-agenda-get-scheduled): Add
`category-pos' in let construct.
Thanks to Achim Gratz for spotting this.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-get-definition): the function has
to widen buffer if definition has not been found in the current
narrowed part. Be sure to restore that restriction once the
definition is found.
* org-icalendar.el (org-print-icalendar-entries): Make alarm duration
RFC5545 compliant.
The format of alarm trigger was incorrect because "T" letter from
dur-time element was missing (see
http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5545#section-3.3.6). This caused some
software (such as KOrganizer) to not interpret the alarms correctly.
TINYCHANGE
* org-agenda.el (org-agenda-get-timestamps)
(org-agenda-get-sexps, org-agenda-get-progress): Correctly set
the `org-category-pos' property.
Thanks to Michael Brand for signaling this problem, and to Nick
Dokos and Erik Iverson for confirming it.
* lisp/org-table.el (org-table-fix-formulas): Throw error when changing
formula leads to an invalid formula.
This fix catches at least one case, the one described by Nicolas:
> | 1 | 2 | 3 |
> | 1 | 2 | 3 |
> #+TBLFM: @2$1..@2$3=@1
> If I remove the second column (M-S-Left), the formula is correctly
> updated. But when I remove the last column, the formula gets partly
> deleted and becomes:
>
> #+TBLFM: @2$1..
>
* lisp/org.el (org-block-todo-from-checkboxes):
`org-list-search-forward' should be used when looking for an item,
as it filters out contexts where match couldn't be in
a list (i.e. example blocks). Also use a correct item regexp, taking
into account alphabetical ordered lists and counters.
* org.el (org-refresh-category-properties): New text property
'org-category-position to point at the beginning of the
headline from which the category is set.
* org-agenda.el (org-search-view, org-agenda-get-todos)
(org-agenda-get-timestamps, org-agenda-get-sexps)
(org-agenda-get-progress, org-agenda-get-deadlines)
(org-agenda-get-scheduled, org-agenda-get-blocks)
(org-agenda-filter-by-tag-refine): Add the
'org-category-position text property.
This commit prepares for a future `org-agenda-set-category'
function allowing to set the category of the headline at point.
* lisp/org.el: (org-refile) Don't call org-back-to-heading with goto
argument.
This fixes an error that results when calling org-refile with the
GOTO argument in a non-org buffer.
* org.el (org-link-display-descriptive): Remove this option
and rely on the existing `org-descriptive-links' instead.
(org-toggle-link-display): Use `org-descriptive-links'.
Without this change, both options are redundant. This also
fixes a bug about using `org-descriptive-links' in the `org-mode'
function, that initialize the display using `org-descriptive-links'
instead of `org-link-display-descriptive'.
Thanks to Thomas S. Dye for spotting this.
* org-table.el (org-table-get-specials): Allow the use of the
underscore character in column names.
(org-table-get-specials): Allow the use of the underscore
character in field names.
Thanks to András Major for bringing this up and to Nick Dokos
for a suggested fix.
* lisp/ob-exp.el (org-babel-exp-inline-src-blocks): Save match data
around `org-babel-exp-do-export' which now searches in this case.
(org-babel-exp-results): Position the point in the inline source
block during export evaluation.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-insert-result): More readable code.
* lisp/org-exp-blocks.el (org-export-blocks-preprocess): Use the built
in function rather than the superfluous (and now removed)
org-specific function.
* lisp/org-exp-blocks.el (org-marker-from-point): Helper function to
create markers at specific points in source buffers.
(org-export-blocks-preprocess): Use markers instead of points to
delimit code blocks.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-separating-blank-lines-number): the
behaviour of `org-back-over-empty-lines' depends on the associated
value of `headline' in `org-blank-before-new-entry', which is out of
context in a list.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-initialize-agent): when the current
buffer isn't being watched, resume initialization of other watched
buffers. In that case, give hand to others idle timers or processes
more frequently.
(org-indent-agent-active-delay): renamed from
org-indent-agent-process-duration.
(org-indent-agent-passive-delay): new variable.
(org-indent-agent-resume-delay): change value.
(org-indent-initialize-buffer): change argument name.
(org-indent-add-properties): change argument name and type
expected. It must be a time value now.
add
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-agenda-include-all-todo): Declare this
option as no longer working.
(org-timeline): Rename the include-all argument to dotodo.
(org-arg-loc): Renamed from` org-include-all-loc'.
(org-agenda-list): Rename the INCLUDE-ALL argument to ARG, because its
function has changed.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-agent-timer,
org-indent-agentized-buffers, org-indent-agent-resume-timer,
org-indent-agent-process-duration, org-indent-agent-resume-delay):
new variables.
(org-indent-initial-marker): more accurate doc-string.
(org-indent-initial-timer, org-indent-initial-resume-timer,
org-indent-initial-process-duration, org-indent-initial-resume-delay,
org-indent-initial-lock): removed variables.
(org-indent-mode): set up an agent to watch current buffer, or add it
to the list of already watched buffers.
(org-indent-initialize-agent): new function.
(org-indent-initialize-buffer): now requires a mandatory buffer
argument.
(org-indent-add-properties): reflect changes to variables. The resume
timer is now global.
This change was introduced because a buffer killed while initializing
couldn't cancel its own initialization timer. Now, a global agent
watches for buffers, starting or resuming their initialization when
appropriate. It can cancel its own timer, thus killing itself, when no
more buffers are being watched.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-set-line-properties): add text
properties down to the beginning of the next line.
(org-indent-add-properties): when last position to add properties to
is at the beginning of a line, all that line will have properties.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-initial-resume-timer): new variable.
(org-indent-initialize-buffer): also resume after a small break.
(org-indent-add-properties): when in asynchronous mode, proceed for
2 seconds, then take a break.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-modified-headline-flag): renamed from
`org-indent-deleted-headline-flag'
(org-indent-notify-modified-headline): renamed from
`org-indent-notify-deleted-headline'. Handle situations when the stars
of an headline are modified.
(org-indent-refresh-maybe): remove case now handled by previous function.
(org-indent-mode): apply renames.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-inlinetask-first-star): new variable.
(org-indent-add-properties): set the first star of inline-tasks'
virtual indentation in `org-warning' face.
* lisp/org-inlinetask.el (org-inlinetask-insert-task): create a new
inline-task slightly differently, so virtual indentation can be
applied normally.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-initial-marker,
org-indent-initial-timer, org-indent-initial-lock): new variables.
(org-indent-mode): at initialization, start an idle timer to indent
the whole buffer. When the user is asking for control, interrupt the
process, and resume at the same point when idle again.
(org-indent-initialize-buffer): new function.
(org-indent-add-properties): throw an interrupt when indentation of
buffer is stopped during initialization.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-max-levels): modify default value and
add comment.
(org-indent-add-properties): pay attention to org-indent-max and
org-indent-max-levels values.
(org-indent-refresh-maybe): refactor code to avoid an unnecessary
save excursion.
* lisp/org-indent.el (org-indent-mode): completely refresh buffer
before starting org-indent-mode. Also set idle timer to refresh only
visible portion of buffer, and refresh the subtree instead of
section when promoting or demoting it.
(org-indent-add-properties): rewrite function to proceed line by
line, as required by `wrap-prefix' specificity.
(org-indent-refresh-section,org-indent-refresh-subtree): refactor.
(org-indent-refresh-view): new function.
(org-indent-refresh-to, org-indent-refresh-section): removed
functions.
* lisp/org.el (org-unfontify-region): do not remove prefix properties
when unfontifying a region.
* org-colview.el (org-columns-cleanup-item): Correctly remove
leading stars in items displayed in the agenda column view.
Thanks to Christian Schmidt for spotting this.
This function by Max Mikhanosha was added accidently. We are
waiting for the FSF to process Max copyright assignement to get
this function in org-mode.
Thanks to Achim Gratz for spotting at this.
* org-colview.el (org-columns-display-here): Clean up items in
org-agenda-mode too.
(org-columns-cleanup-item): Take a new argument CPHR to allow
passing a complex heading regexp. Rewrite to cleanup ITEM
correctly in `org-agenda-mode'.
Thanks to Christian Schmidt for pointing at this problem.
(org-open-at-mouse): Point to the docstring of `org-open-file'
for more details.
(org-open-file): Mention `org-link-frame-setup' in the
docstring.
Thanks to Reiner Steib for pointing at this.
(org-link-display-descriptive): New option to customize the
default display of links, either literal or descriptive.
(org-toggle-link-display): New command to toggle link display.
(org-org-menu): Use the new toggle function for links.
Thanks to Reiner Steib for suggesting this.
Also remove blank lines before the ";;; org*el ends here" declarations.
Having a "Version" header forced us to update every file when releasing a
new version of Org; it also forced us to update every file when merging Org
with Emacs trunk, thus cluttering the diffs between the previously merged
version and the new one with useless information.
Glenn Morris suggested this in emacs-devel:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2011-08/msg00322.html
* org.el (org-refile-active-region-within-subtree): New option
to allow refiling a region that is part of a subtree without
containing a subtree itself. This default to `nil'.
(org-refile): Use the new option. Put point at the beginning
of the region/subtree to be refiled, so that users understand
what will be refiled. Also improve the prompt to tell whether
the user is refiling a region or a headline.
Thanks to Jeff Horn for raising the issue of refiling a list item,
and to Nicolas Goaziou, Nick Dokos and Suvayu Ali for discussing
them patiently. The discussion led to these changes.
* org.el (org-properties-postprocess-alist): New option to
allow postprocessing the values of properties set through
`org-set-property'.
(org-set-property): Use this option.
This is inspired by a request from Pascal Mattia.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-normalize): effectively remove
any footnote tag in non Org buffers, as detailled in
org-footnote-tag-for-non-org-mode-files doc-string.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-tag-for-non-org-mode-files):
notify the opportunity to set the variable to the empty string.
(org-footnote-normalize, org-footnote-create-definition): carefully
check for inserted newlines and presence of the footnote
tag.
* lisp/org-inlinetask.el (org-inlinetask-export-templates):
Fixed template for html so that the exported file is valid
xhtml. Added template for odt.
(org-inlinetask-export-handler): Fix typo in the regexp that
trims content. Make sure that the content is flanked by
paragraph boundaries on either side.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-html-style-default): Add style
for inlinetask.
* contrib/lisp/org-xhtml.el (org-export-xhtml-style-default):
Add style for inlinetask.
* contrib/odt/styles/OrgOdtStyles.xml: Added following custom
styles: OrgInlineTaskHeading and OrgInlineTaskFrame.
* contrib/lisp/org-odt.el (org-odt-format-textbox)
(org-odt-format-inlinetask): Added

Thanks to Suvayu Ali for reporting this issue and suggesting
improvements.
(org-at-timestamp-p): set `org-ts-what' in a way that point will be
considered to be "on the bracket" whether it is really on it or right
after it.
Thanks to Matt Lundin for reporting this and to Nicolas Goaziou for
discussion about this.
* org.el (org-overview): Use outline-regexp instead of
org-outline-regexp so that global cycling using orgstruct-mode
works outside of Org buffers.
Thanks to Matt Lundin for this fix.
* org-table.el (org-table-eval-formula): Fix missing variable
in let construct.
(org-table-time-string-to-seconds): Fix missing variable in
let construct.
Thanks to John Wiegley for pointing at this.
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-agenda-get-deadlines): Fix dfrac for the
case of wdays being 0. Don't pass wdays to org-agenda-deadline-face,
like before the old fix.
(org-agenda-deadline-face): Revert to old state that was without
wdays.
This allows a deadline warning period of "-0d" to work also with a
custom configuration like:
(setq org-agenda-deadline-faces
'((1.0001 . org-warning) ; due yesterday or before
(0.0 . org-upcoming-deadline))) ; due today or later
For org-agenda-deadline-faces left at default and all other settings
not exceeding 1.0, the face for a deadline warning of any length
remains untouched by this patch.

* org-latex.el (org-export-latex-fixed-width): Only add one
line break after exporting verbatim environments.
Thanks to Maik Beckmann for reporting this.
If non-nil, consider `org-extend-today-until' when creating timestamps.
For example, if `org-extend-today-until' is 8, and it's 4am, then the
"effective time" of any timestamps between midnight and 8am will be
23:59 of the previous day.
* org.el (org-paste-subtree): Paste subtree above target headline if
point is at bol.
Capture and refile depend on this buggy behavior of org-past-subtree.
* lisp/org.el (org-activate-code, org-toggle-fixed-width-section,
org-indent-line-function): allow "[ \t]*:$" as a special case of
fixed-width section.
* lisp/org-inlinetask.el (org-inlinetask-export-handler): Don't export
inline tasks if the current backend has provided no entries in
org-inlinetask-export-templates.
* lisp/org.el (org-indent-line-function): Made the way in which example blocks are
indented more flexible.
Before: Lines in example blocks were indented like the surrounding begin and end
delimiters.
After: By default, lines in example blocks are indented like the surrounding begin and end
delimiters, unless the user explicitly indents them differently.
TINYCHANGE
,----
| The functions `org-batch-agenda', `org-batch-agenda-csv', and
| `org-batch-store-agenda-views' are implemented as macros to provide
| a conveniant way for extracting agenda information from the command
| line. The Lisp does not evaluate parameters of a macro call; thus
| it is not necessary to quote the parameters passed to one of those
| functions. E.g. you can write:
|
| emacs -batch -l ~/.emacs -eval '(org-batch-agenda "a" org-agenda-span 7)'
|
| To export an agenda spanning 7 days. If `org-batch-agenda' would
| have been implemented as a regular function you'd have to quote the
| symbol org-agenda-span. Moreover: To use a symbol as parameter
| value you would have to double quote the symbol.
|
| This is a hack, but it works even when running Org byte-compiled.
`----
* org-macs.el (org-make-parameter-alist): New function. Turn flat list
of alternating symbol names and values into an alist with symbol name
in car and value in cdr.
* org-macs.el (org-with-gensyms): New macro. Wrap let-binding of
SYMBOLS to new uninterned symbols around BODY.
Use this macro to compose macros that need to bind their own symbols
in expansion. It expands into a let-binding of all symbols in SYMBOLS
to new uninterned symbols that cannot collide with symbols used in the
target macro's expansion.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-new): use ido or iswitchb when
available when prompted for a label. Also rename a local variable to
avoid confusion with an existing function.
* org.el (org-back-over-empty-lines): Don't move line upward if point
is at eob.
Fixes a bug with refiling reported by Bernt Hansen, simplified version
of fix proposed by Jason Dunsmore.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-in-valid-context-p): check
`org-protected' property before allowing to match a footnote.
(org-footnote-at-reference-p): remove an obsolete test. It's now done
in the previous function.
* lisp/org.el (org-between-regexps-p): previous name implied the
function was related to blocks, which isn't mandatory.
(org-narrow-to-block, org-in-block-p, org-indent-line-function):
applied the rename.
* lisp/ob-exp.el (org-babel-in-example-or-verbatim): applied
rename. Also removed a white space.
* lisp/org.el (org-in-regexps-block-p): return an useful value when
point is between START-RE and END-RE. No incomplete block is allowed
anymore. Add another optional argument to bound the bottom part of
the search.
(org-narrow-to-block, org-in-block-p): apply modifications.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-next-reference-or-definition): if
no more footnote is found, be sure to go back to the original
position. Otherwise, point might be left on a footnote-like element
that has been dished out.
* lisp/ob-keys.el (org-babel-key-bindings): Bound to C-c C-v k.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-map-regexp): New generic mapping macro.
(org-babel-map-inline-src-blocks): Rewritten to use new macro.
(org-babel-kill-results): Remove some or all results in the current
file.
* lisp/ob-lob.el (org-babel-map-call-lines): Map over all lob call
lines in the current file.
* doc/orgcard.tex: Document new keybinding.
Deleting .orgx files is an error -- thanks to Carsten for pointing
at this. Instead, we "hide" them by using dotted files: .file.orgx.
Also, use theindex.org directly instead of including theindex.inc in
theindex.org. This prevents a bug about republication of theindex.org
being skipped because the file has not been updated.
* org-publish.el (org-publish-index-generate-theindex): rename
from `org-publish-index-generate-theindex.inc'. Use the file
theindex.org directly instead of including theindex.inc.
(org-publish-projects): Don't delete .orgx files.
(org-publish-aux-preprocess): Use .file.orgx.
This is needed for the HTML file to interact correctly with
org-info.js. On the long term, the title should be part of
the preamble, but this requires work on org-info.js.
* org-html.el (org-export-html-preamble-format): New default
for the HTML preamble: don't include the title. Also improve
the docstring.
(org-export-html-postamble-format): Improve the docstring.
(org-export-as-html): Add the title within the "content" div.
This is necessary for interaction with the org-info.js script.
Also add the org- prefix to some variable.
* org-publish.el (org-publish-find-title): bugfix: kill
buffers unless they were already visited.
(org-sitemap-sort-files, org-sitemap-sort-folders)
(org-sitemap-ignore-case, org-sitemap-requested)
(org-sitemap-date-format, org-sitemap-file-entry-format): use
a correct prefix.
(org-publish-projects): Make sure to delete .orgx files.
(org-publish-index-generate-theindex.inc): Small docstring
fix.
This allows to display the output of duration computations
as a fraction of days, hours, minutes or seconds.
Thanks to Daniel E. Doherty for bringing up this need.
* org-table.el (org-table-duration-custom-format): New
defcustom to select output format of durations computations.
(org-table-time-seconds-to-string): Use the new variable.
(org-table-eval-formula): Allow `t' as a flag, on top of `T'.
`t' will use the custom output format defined in
`org-table-duration-custom-format.
* lisp/org-list.el: search blank lines down to the end of the item
instead of stopping at the item, in order to possibly match such
lines within the item.
This is useful when you want to use \url{link} instead of the default
\href{link}{path}.
Thanks to Henri-Paul Indiogine for bringing this up.
* org-latex.el (org-export-latex-href-format): docstring fix
to reflect the fact that you can use only one "%s".
(org-export-latex-links): allow `org-export-latex-href-format'
to have only one "%s".
* org-capture.el (org-capture-templates): docstring fix.
* org.texi (Template expansion): order template sequences in
the proper order.
Thanks to Philipp Möller for this fix.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-view-src-block-info): New function to inspect code blocks.
* lisp/ob-keys.el (org-babel-key-bindings): Key bindings for org-babel-view-src-block-info.
* doc/orgcard.tex: Documentation of new Babel function.
* org-exp.el (org-infile-export-plist): Handle recursively
included setup files. The value of the last included file
always takes precedence over previous values.
Thanks to Stefan Vollmar for signaling this bug.
* lisp/org.el (org-timestamp-change): keep point in the same category
when updating a time-stamp. This requires to be careful, as,
depending on the locale, name of day might change of length during
the process.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-create-definition): when skipping
already written footnotes definition, the algorithme would assume
each one was only one-line long.
* org-table.el (org-table-eval-formula): Fix bug when a
formula "range" is just one cell.
(org-table-time-string-to-seconds): don't check whether
we manipulate a string.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-mark-list-end,
org-export-mark-list-properties): don't remove the ending regexp
when it consists in blank lines.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-parse-list): ditto, but remove it
completely when it isn't made of blank lines (i.e. during export process).
* org-table.el (org-table-time-string-to-seconds): match
either HH:MM:SS or HH:MM (instead of MM:SS).
Thanks to Gustav Wikström for suggesting this change.
(org-deadline, org-schedule): Improve docstrings.
(org-add-planning-info): Allow relative time like "-2d" or
"++2w" for the TIME argument.
The user can now call `org-schedule' and `org-deadline'
and use "+1d" to say that the task must be scheduled one
day later than today, or "++1d" to say that the task must
be scheduled one day later than the current SCHEDULED date,
if any.
This also works in agenda: you can select several entries
and reschedule them to +2d.
Thanks to Memnon Anon for insisting an finding a solution
for this!
* org.el (org-ctrl-c-ctrl-c-final-hook): New hook to be run
when `org-ctrl-c-ctrl-c' cannot do anything useful in the
given context.
Thanks to Paul Sexton for this idea.
`org-export-html-divs' contains '("preamble" "content" "postamble")
and is used to define the <div "%s"> for this parts of the HTML file.
This commit also obsolete some variables that are not useful anymore
as the file time-stamp can (should) be inserted through the postamble
or the preamble instead.
Thanks to Sébastian Vauban for a preliminary version of this patch!
* org-html.el (org-export-html-with-timestamp)
(org-export-html-html-helper-timestamp): These are obsolete
variables as of Org version 7.7 as you can already export the
timestamp from the preamble or the postamble.
(org-export-html-before-content-div): Delete variable.
(org-export-html-content-div): obsolete variable as of 7.7.
(org-export-html-divs): New variable to define divs used in
HTML export.
(org-export-as-html): Now the preamble and the postamble are
surrounded by a <div ...>. The name of the div is defined
through `org-export-html-divs'.
* org-table.el (org-table-eval-formula): Throw an error when
trying to replace complex range with invalid references.
Thanks to Ken Williams for pointing this out.
* lisp/org-macs.el (org-with-limited-levels): some functions, like
`org-back-to-heading', being deeply based on outline-mode, still
refer to `outline-regexp' instead of `org-outline-regexp'.
* org.el (org-refile-get-targets): new optional argument
`excluded-entries' to exclude entries from the targets.
(org-refile-get-location): From an org-mode buffer, exclude
current heading and subheadings from the list of targets when
org-refile-use-cache is nil.
Also remove some trailing whitespaces.
Thanks to Jason Dunsmore for this idea.
* lisp/org.el (org-timestamp-change): some locales don't use the same
length for date abbreviations. Set a marker at origin in case length
of new timestamp is different.
Thanks to Tom for analyzing this.
* lisp/org-archive.el (org-archive-subtree): while it might be
possible to archive an headline of a temporary buffer (i.e. not
visiting a file), it wouldn't be really sensical.
* lisp/org-archive.el (org-extract-archive-file,
org-extract-archive-heading, org-archive-subtree): buffer-file-name
is nil in an indirect buffer. Thus,
use (buffer-file-name (buffer-base-buffer)), which will, in any
case, return the file-name.
Thanks to Ilya Shlyakhter for reporting and analyzing this.
* lisp/org-capture.el (org-capture): if dired isn't loaded,
`dired-buffers' isn't defined, and %F will fail.
Thanks to Puneeth Chaganti for reporting this.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-in-valid-context-p): avoid cited
lines and headers in message-mode.
(org-footnote-at-reference-p): remove check for cited lines, this is
now handled by the previous function. Refactor.
* lisp/org-capture.el (org-capture): if no file is associated to
current buffer, check dired buffer and try to retreive a possibly
directory associated.
`org-outline-regexp' ought to be a defconst but is let-binded
in some places -- e.g. see the macro `org-with-limited-levels'
and this produces misleading warnings.
Thanks to Matthew Sauer for reporting this.
* lisp/ob-exp.el (org-babel-exp-results): Resolve hashes in the
current (not original) file buffer.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-current-result-hash): More informative name,
and remove useless optional argument.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-at-reference-p): test if match is
in cited text, when replying to a message.
(org-footnote-new): do not create a new footnote at bol, as it might
be seen as a definition.
(org-footnote-at-definition-p): ignore definitions in forbidden
blocks, as it is already the case for references.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-insert-item): actualize code comments.
(org-insert-item): for consistency, point cannot be moved at
a surprising place when the user is being asked to choose a new
description term to insert in the list. Point should stay where the
user called the command.
This commit introduce `org-loop-over-siblings-within-active-region-p'
as a new defcustom that you can turn on (`non-nil') to allow commands
to loop over siblings in the active region.
The list of commands is this:
- org-archive-subtree
- org-archive-to-archive-sibling
- org-toggle-archive-tag
- org-deadline
- org-schedule
When `org-loop-over-siblings-within-active-region-p' is `non-nil' and
you run one of the command above on a region containing several headlines,
then Org will apply the command to each headline.
This can be particularily useful for archiving several headlines, or to
add a deadline or schedule several entries.
* org.el (org-loop-over-siblings-within-active-region-p): New
defcustom so that `org-loop-over-siblings-in-active-region'
can be turned on and off.
(org-deadline, org-schedule): Use the new macro.
* org-macs.el (org-loop-over-siblings-in-active-region): New
macro to let some commands act upon several siblings in the
active region.
* org-archive.el (org-archive-subtree)
(org-archive-to-archive-sibling, org-toggle-archive-tag): Use
`org-loop-over-siblings-in-active-region'.
Use `org-outline-regexp' instead or `outline-regexp'. Also use the
new defconst `org-outline-regexp-bol' to match `org-outline-regexp'
at the beginning of line.
* org.el (org-outline-regexp-bol): New defconst.

(org-footnote-normalize): Use `org-outline-regexp' and
`org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* org-exp.el (org-export-preprocess-string): Don't redefine
`outline-regexp'.
* org-docbook.el (org-export-as-docbook): Use
`org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* org-colview.el (org-columns, org-columns-compute): Use
`org-outline-regexp' and `org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* org-colview-xemacs.el (org-columns, org-columns-compute):
Use `org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* org-clock.el (org-clock-insert-selection-line)
(org-clock-in, org-clock-out, org-dblock-write:clocktable):
Use `org-outline-regexp' and `org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* org-ascii.el (org-export-as-ascii)
(org-export-ascii-push-links): Use `org-outline-regexp' and
`org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* org-archive.el (org-archive-to-archive-sibling)

* org-agenda.el (org-agenda, org-search-view)
(org-agenda-list-stuck-projects, org-agenda-get-timestamps)
(org-agenda-get-progress, org-agenda-get-blocks): Use
`org-outline-regexp' and `org-outline-regexp-bol'.
* lisp/org.el (org-update-parent-todo-statistics): COOKIE_DATA should
be checked for parent, not current headline. Also, this function
doesn't need to be interactive.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-send-item, org-list-struct-apply-struct,
org-apply-on-list, org-toggle-checkbox): make markers point nowhere
when they have become useless.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-insert-item): when insertion point is in
some white line after the end of the list, remove all unnecessary
white lines there before proceeding. Also refactor a snippet of
code.
* ob.el (org-babel-strip-protective-commas): Return `nil'
instead of an error if no argument is given.
(org-babel-parse-src-block-match): Make sure body is defined
in the let construct.
* lisp/org-bibtex.el (org-babel-trim): Declare this function to the
compiler.
(org-bibtex-get): Trimming whitespace off of bibtex fields read from
properties.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-preprocess-string): add the possibility
to call recursively the function. Also change order of some function
calls. Comment export process for footnotes.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-normalize): change the export
specific parameter to hold properties of export. Thus, the function
can send every footnote definition in the buffer through
`org-export-process-string'.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-preprocess): first insert
footnotes in the temporary buffer so their contents can properly be
protected from further transformations if required.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-list-parameters): complete
default value with cbtrans option.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-to-latex): set a more consistent default
value.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-swap-items): move it to a meaningful
position in source code (i.e. before any function using it), and
rename it to an easier name.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-use-circular-move): new variable.
(org-previous-item, org-next-item): make use of the new variable.
(org-move-item-down, org-move-item-up): make use of the new
variable. Simplify code.
* org-agenda.el (org-agenda-bulk-custom-functions): New
variable for custom bulk action functions.
(org-agenda-bulk-action): Use it.
Thanks to Julien Cubizolles for triggering this idea.
* org-latex.el (org-export-latex-quotes): New defcustom.
(org-export-latex-quotation-marks): Use it.
This allows users to define what quotes they want to use as a
replacement of english double-quotes while exporting to LaTeX.
In particular, if you use the csquote package, you can configure
Org to output something like \endquote{some quoted text} instead
of "some quoted text".
Thanks to Frederik for bringing this issue up, and to Thomas S.
Dye, Nick Dokos and Stefan Nobis for elaborating this solution.
* org-capture.el (org-capture-finalize): bugfix about
inserted blank line when killing the capture buffer and
`org-blank-before-new-entry' tells to not insert anything
before a heading.
Thanks to Leo for reporting this.
* org-html.el (org-export-html-content-div): Rename from
`org-export-content-div'.
(org-export-as-html): Use new name.
Thanks to Jambunathan for spotting this.
I'm testing whether patchwork catches the patches again.
You are free to test the feature as well :)

Subject: [PATCH] Make `org-set-property' defaults to the last set property.
* org.el (org-last-set-property): New variable.
(org-read-property-name): Use the new variable: the prompt
defaults to the last property set, unless there is a property
in the line at point.
* lisp/ob-awk.el (org-babel-execute:awk): Use "verbatim" as synonym
for "scalar".
* lisp/ob-sh.el (org-babel-sh-evaluate): Use "verbatim" as synonym for
"scalar".
* lisp/ob-sqlite.el (org-babel-execute:sqlite): Use "verbatim" as
synonym for "scalar".
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-merge-params): Use "verbatim" as synonym for
"scalar".
* org.el (org-shiftcontrolup, org-shiftcontroldown): New
commands to use `org-clock-timestamps-change'.
* org-clock.el (org-clock-timestamps-change)
(org-clock-timestamps-down, org-clock-timestamps-up)
(org-at-clock-log-p): New functions to let the user update
clock log timestamps while keeping the same clock duration.
Thanks to Rainer Stengele for this idea.
* lisp/org.el (org-in-block-p): new function.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-forbidden-blocks): new variable.
(org-footnote-in-valid-context-p): new function.
(org-footnote-at-reference-p): use new function. Allow inline
footnotes to start at bol.
* Makefile (LISPF): Adding ob-lilypond.el.
* lisp/ob-lilypond.el (show-all): Declaring function from outline.el.
(org-babel-default-header-args:lilypond): Declared.
(ly-process-basic): Use the appropriate prefix for the temporary
file, and don't call a function from ob-dot.el.
(ly-version): Let-bind a free variable.
This reverts commit 5a2eec3207.
The replacement of `buffer-substring-filters' by
`filter-buffer-substring-functions' requires some rewriting
of functions like `org-indent-remove-properties-from-string'.
* install/git/org-mode/lisp/org.el (org-mode): Use org-default as
the default face in org-mode.
* install/git/org-mode/lisp/org-faces.el (org-default): New face.
M-x customize-face RET org-default RET lets the user define a default
face for org-mode.
* install/git/org-mode/lisp/org-publish.el
(org-publish-cache-file-needs-publishing): Takes care of more
recently included files, returning `t' in case the file including
them needs to be republished.

`org-export-export-preprocess-string' was a dummy copy of
`org-export-preprocess-string', adapted for specific needs
of org-mw-export. We now use `org-export-preprocess-string'
directly. This requires a minor change in this latter function:
if :for-backend is not explicitely passed, then the let binding
of `org-export-current-backend' falls back on the previous value
of org-export-current-backend'.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-preprocess-string): if the last subtree
is a task, footnotes may be removed along with the subtree. This
patch ensures footnotes are put at the end of the buffer after the
subtree has been removed.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-at-reference-p): verify that what
looks like a footnote doesn't belong to a link.
(org-footnote-next-reference-or-definition): check more strictly
footnote definitions.
The lua-mode for instance was throwing errors that killed the tangling process.
* lisp/ob-tangle.el (org-babel-tangle): Ignore errors thrown by
language modes.
* lisp/ob-python.el (org-babel-python-evaluate-session): Introduced a
new local function for sending input with a slight delay to allow
pythong to re-draw the prompt. No longer removing newlines inside
code block bodies (was due to a defective regexp).
* install/git/org-mode/lisp/org-table.el
(org-table-time-seconds-to-string): use `org-format-seconds'
instead of `format-seconds'.
* install/git/org-mode/lisp/org-macs.el (org-format-seconds):
handle case where `format-seconds' does not exist.
* org-publish.el (org-publish-cache-ctime-of-src): Properly handle
relative symlinks.

* org-latex.el (org-export-latex-preprocess): Use function argument
instead of dynamically scoped symbol.
Export options are passed to org-export-preprocess-string which passes
them down to backend specific preprocessor. The :footnotes option is
included.
* org-freemind.el (org-freemind-convert-links-helper)
(org-freemind-convert-text-p, org-freemind-write-mm-buffer)
(org-freemind-get-node-style): Use org-string-match-p for backward
compatibility with Emacs22.
* ob-haskell.el (org-babel-haskell-export-to-lhs): Call kill-buffer
with argument indiciating to kill current buffer. Emacs 22
compatibility.
GNU Emacs 22.3.2 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) of 2011-05-28 on x60s
C-h f kill-buffer RET
kill-buffer is an interactive built-in function in `C source code'.
It is bound to C-x k.
(kill-buffer buffer)
Kill the buffer buffer.
The argument may be a buffer or the name of a buffer.
With a nil argument, kill the current buffer.
* install/git/org-mode/lisp/org-table.el
(org-table-time-string-to-seconds)
(org-table-time-seconds-to-string): New functions.
(org-table-eval-formula): Implement the "T" (time) flag for
computing durations.
This uses the macro David Maus suggests. In particular, it doesn't
use the (let (pc-mode ...)) binding, which, as David states, could
cause leakage if the pc-mode variable is used within ,@body.
* lisp/org.el (org-fontify-meta-lines-and-blocks-1): Include header
lines.
(org-additional-option-like-keywords): Include data as a synonym for
results.
* lisp/org.el (org-fontify-meta-lines-and-blocks-1): Fix test for src blocks
lang attribute
When there is no lang attribute to a block (for quote, verse or others), the
lang variable is not nil, but an empty string.
* lisp/ob-org.el (org-babel-expand-body:org): Implemented this
function, only action is to expand variables.
(org-babel-execute:org): Uses the new body-expansion function.
* lisp/org-list.el (org-list-full-item-re): allow counter and
check-box to be separated by white spaces.
(org-list-struct-apply-struct): reflect changes made to
`org-list-full-item-re'.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-html-export-list-line): recognize spaces
between counter and check-boxes as valid.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-docbook-list-line): ditto.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-at-reference-p): first check if
point is at the beginning of a footnote. Indeed `org-in-regexp'
first checks backwards and might find an incorrect footnote if they
are side-by-side.
* org-agenda.el (org-agenda-compact-blocks): Improve docstring.
(org-agenda-block-separator): Add nil to docstring and customization.
(org-prepare-agenda): Skip agenda block separator additionally if
org-agenda-block-separator is nil.
(org-agenda-overriding-header): Improve docstring.
This change allows to disable the agenda block separator only and also
per block only. (The variable org-agenda-compact-blocks non-nil
disables agenda block separators together with the line containing the
agenda span name and week number and does this globally for all blocks
and all custom agenda commands.)
(org-make-link-string): Don't escape image links when no description
is provided by the user. Otherwise those images won't be recognized
as images when trying to display inline pictures.
* lisp/ob.el (org-babel-sha1-hash): Adding optional argument KIND to
all org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
* lisp/org-agenda.el (org-agenda-redo): Adding optional argument KIND to
all org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-agenda-show-1): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-agenda-set-tags): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
* lisp/org-ascii.el (org-export-as-latin1): Adding optional argument
KIND to all org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-export-as-latin1-to-buffer): Adding optional argument KIND to
all org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-export-as-utf8-to-buffer): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-export-region-as-ascii): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-region-as-docbook): Adding optional
argument KIND to all org-called-interactively-p function
invocations.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-region-as-html): Adding optional
argument KIND to all org-called-interactively-p function
invocations.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-region-as-latex): Adding optional
argument KIND to all org-called-interactively-p function
invocations.
* lisp/org-table.el (org-table-blank-field): Adding optional argument
KIND to all org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-table-current-column): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-table-current-dline): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-table-sort-lines): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-table-sum): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-table-rotate-recalc-marks): Adding optional argument KIND to
all org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-table-eval-formula): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(orgtbl-send-table): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
* lisp/org.el (org-mode): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-copy-subtree): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-paste-subtree): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-store-link): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-todo): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
(org-occur): Adding optional argument KIND to all
org-called-interactively-p function invocations.
Interactive-p is an obsolete function as of Emacs 23.2.
`org-called-interactively-p' takes care of the current (x)Emacs
version and use either `interactive-p' (for XEmacs and Emacs<23.2)
or `called-interactively-p'.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-re): avoid matching inactive
time-stamps or check-box cookies.
(org-footnote-next-reference-or-definition): adapt to the new regexp.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-preprocess-string): if the last subtree
is commented, footnotes inserted during normalizing at the end of
the buffer may get deleted. This patch ensures deletion comes first,
normalization second.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-preprocess): rely on
`org-export-footnotes-markers' to retreive definition of the current
footnote during export.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-normalize): add `org-footnote'
property to footnote markers when preparing for exportation.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-as-html): read new property to decide
when to export a footnote.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-as-docbook): read new property to
decide when to export a footnote.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-preprocess): ensure footnote at
column 0 cannot end a list containing it by adding
`original-indentation' property to it.
* lisp/org-exp (org-export-preprocess-string): normalize footnotes
before marking lists ending.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-preprocess): work with labels as
strings and not as numbers.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-docbook-footnote-separator): new
variable
(org-export-as-docbook): add a separator between footnotes.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-html-footnote-separator): new variable.
(org-export-as-html): add a separator between footnotes.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-footnote-separator): new
variable.
(org-export-latex-preprocess): add a separator between footnotes.
* lisp/org-exp.el (org-export-footnotes-markers,
org-export-footnotes-data): new variables.
(org-export-preprocess-string): use a more explicit argument.
* lisp/org-html.el (org-export-as-html): initialize new variables.
* lisp/org-docbook.el (org-export-as-docbook): initialize new variables.
* lisp/org-latex.el (org-export-latex-footmark-seen): new variable.
(org-export-as-latex): initialize new variables.
(org-export-latex-preprocess): allow to export two or more footnotes
in a row. Also permit to have footnotes refering to previously
defined footnotes.
* lisp/org-ascii.el (org-export-as-ascii): feed org-footnote-normalize
with data so it can normalize footnotes before first headline, or
footnotes with their definition outside exported region.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-goto-definition): now,
determining if point is at a footnote reference is entirely
determined by `org-footnote-at-reference-p'. No need to check if
pattern isn't at beginning of the line elsewhere.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-next-reference-or-definition):
new function.
* lisp/org.el (org-activate-footnote-links): activate the whole
footnote, but only fontify its label.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-normalize): make use of changes
to `org-footnote-at-reference-p' and creation of various functions..
Also comment code.
(org-footnote-get-next-reference, org-footnote-delete-references,
org-footnote-delete-definitions): new functions
(org-footnote-goto-previous-reference, org-footnote-all-labels,
org-insert-footnote-reference-near-definition, org-footnote-delete):
rewrite to use org-footnote-get-next-reference.
* lisp/org-footnote.el (org-footnote-re): don't end an inline footnote
at unrelated closing square brackets.
(org-footnote-at-reference-p): improve accuracy of the function to
determine if point is at a reference and to extract definition of an
inline footnote.
(org-footnote-all-labels, org-footnote-action, org-footnote-delete,
org-footnote-auto-adjust-maybe): make use of previous function.
